====The Voyage Begins==== When there scraped together hunk of a ship finally got within orbit of this planet the tech priest was able to confirm the sterile nature of the planet. There was no trace of any active chemical processes that could be considered life. Whatever the nature of the planet was then, now the atmosphere was almost entirely methane and nitrogen. While uninhabitable as is, it was possible to begin the process. At the tech priest suggestion, a single las shot was fired into the planet, setting the atmosphere on fire. A ring of fire expanded outward from one pole and into the other. The finished product now had created a planet remarkably similar to a combination of Old Terra and Mars. As the smoke settled a number of structures became noticeable on the auspex. These giant pyramid structures were in fact producing vast quantities of methane but were doing so erratically. Without much of a choice Petarca decided that they had to explore the planet, if only to get any necessary materials to get the ship working. After a lengthy appeasement to the tormented machine spirits, Peterca, the tech priest, and a small cadre took a small craft to explore the planet. The entire surface had turned to ash, glass and sand. The scene went on without end or distinction. A sense of dread came over the Petarca and the tech priest as they began to approach one of the pyramids. Both were aware of the Xenos that inhabited the structure and neither was too keen on setting off a tomb world. The giant entrance of the building could have easily accommodated a titan but the gates were open and everything seemed shut down. Petraca was the first to pass into the tomb city, followed by his skittish followers. Lights flickered on and off all over the place but it was clearly not functioning properly. They came across what Petraca suspected were sentries but the skeletal remains were lifeless, with puddles of what appeared to be quicksilver pooling underneath them. As they continued on ward they saw some horrific statues and tried to avert their gaze. In a flash, one of the statues came to life and seeped a blade across the area, slicing one of Peterca's cadres in two. The blood splattered all over his two halves, staining his shirt red. Everyone took cover and readied their guns. They were expecting an unstoppable death machine, what they got was something very different. The Necron warrior seemed to be walking in circles, moving to his right. When the impending doom did not come the survivors knew just what to do and fired their las guns into the machine. After it stopped moving noticed that the location of where the machine was standing had another puddle of silvery liqud pooled there. The tech priest quickly scooped up a sample and they moved on. The scenes they saw were all the same. Most of the machines were non-functioning but the ones that were, were all moving in the same circular direction. It seemed that they could stop turning, or turn right. With this handicap, the away team was able to avoid danger by always engaging the machines on their right side. Eventually Petarca and the tech priest concluded the entire tomb was functioning with this error. When Petarca returned to the ship he sent out other away teams to investigate the other tombs. The reports back were they were all functioning in this bizarre manner. Petera concluded that one of the first things they must do is that the tombs be sealed, made from the broken machines, with revolving doors that revolve left. With the threat contained, Petarca started to survey where a good base of operations would make. With the mass amount of desert dunes, building any kind of structures would be difficult, there would be no foundation and the winds storms could produce wind so strong it could carry a tank away. Peterca settled on a mountainous terrain near the Northern pole. After a lengthy survey determined that another journey in their ship through the warp would probably end in becoming a demons lunch. Because of this, They would unload anything of value not needed to attempt the warp trip so at least some people could survive. The question was asked by some of the rescued humans about the xenos they were formerly enslaved to. Some people wanted to simply jettison the xenos in to space and watch them burn up in rentry and others wanted to awaken them to inflict untold punishments for their insolence and disrespect to the machine god. Peteraca had other ideas. "Did man not once have a bull to plow his field and a sheep to turn to wool and pelts? Let us then go back to a time of dignaty of man and use the beats of burden to make a garden of this world." With that said, everyone agreed.Though one voiced reservations, the tech priest. He was worried about the sins that the xenos committed agaisnt the machine spirits and must be punished. Petraca offered a surprising just and merciful punishment for their captives, they must work to undo the torture done to the machine spirits and spend the rest of their lives devoted to advancing the goals of the Machine God. The tech priest would be made to lead the rehabilitation of the technology, as well as ensuring that the Xenos pay the machine god proper respect. First though they had to have a facility to both teach and house these criminals. And so other the course of 6 months a rudimentary settlement was established. They were able to make incredibly strong structures out of all the carbon on the planet, as well as arrays of moisture condensers, a launching pad, and bunker. As they unloaded the last of the livestock, they made a program for the navigator servitor to follow. It would attempt to jump as closely to the closest known imperial planet, separate the head of the ship from the tail portion and then detonate the tail portion to attract attention. If all would go to plan, another ship would go out to find the source of the explosion and find the logs in the ship asking for help and giving their coordinates.
