Along with twin sister Vex'ahlia, Vax was born by a chance encounter between elven royalty and human peasantry. Raised by their mother in their early years, the twins were eventually sent off to their father in the elven capital of Syngorn. But their cool reception among the elves there never warmed, and their time in the capital didn't last. The siblings stole away one autumn night and set out on the open road. After a few years of wandering, they eventually decided to return to their mother, and journeyed back to the lands of their youth. The archetypical Half Elf edgy boy Rogue who later multiclassed into Paladin. Vax is probably the most traditionally cliché character of the bunch due to being played the most straight. Partly due to Liam's extreme commitment to roleplaying, Vax effectively became the main protagonist of the final arcs due to an early death and resurrection that saw him become a Revenant for the Raven Queen. Had a bit of a habit of stealing screen time and pulling people aside for one-sided conversations that largely became him using them as stress balls. The only main member of the team to die for good at the end of the game. A favourite if you like the edgy types, the Vaxleth ship, or Liam O'Brien's undeniably sexy voice.

Liam O'Brien would be the one to discuss with Matt and eventually introduce the idea of interparty romance into the game, with Vax confessing his love to Keyleth and the two eventually hooking up. It had an extreme ripple effect both amongst the cast themselves who initially saw it as gross as heck, but would eventually almost ALL get in on it and hook their characters up with each other in different pairings, and amongst the fanbase who eventually took it to the ridiculous, inevitable extreme that a fanbase does in campaign 2.
