==Custom rules for rolling with advantage / disadvantage== When you have no advantage, you roll 2d6, then sum them. If you have advantage, add one or two d6 to your roll, then sum the the top two dice. If you have disadvantage, sum the lower two d6. For great advantage or disadvantage, you roll 4d6 instead of 3d6. * Advantage comes from aid by another player, skill, or preparedness. * Disadvantage comes from opponent strength, a challenging factor, action difficulty, or weakness of the one making the roll. Once all advantage and disadvantage is added up, advantage greater than +2 becomes +2. advantage less than -2 becomes -2. <div style="float: left; margin-right: 20px"> {| class="wikitable" |+Advantage / Disadvantage |- !scope="col"|Advantage !scope="col"|Dice !scope="col"|Name |- !scope="row"| +2 | 4d6 | great advantage |- !scope="row"| +1 | 3d6 | minor advantage |- !scope="row"| 0 | 2d6 | no advantage |- !scope="row"| -1 | 3d6 | minor disadvantage |- !scope="row"| -2 | 4d6 | great disadvantage |} </div> <div style="float: left; margin-right: 20px"> {| class="wikitable" |+Approximate Roll Probabilities |- !scope="col"| Advantage !scope="col"| Success !scope="col"| Mixed !scope="col"| Failure |- !scope="row"| +2 | 52% | 38% | 9% |- !scope="row"| +1 | 35% | 44% | 19% |- !scope="row"| 0 | 16% | 41% | 41% |- !scope="row"| -1 | 5% | 26% | 68% |- !scope="row"| -2 | 1% | 15% | 82% |- |} </div> <div style="clear: both"></div> In order to avoid breaking the flow of the game by figuring out what the total advantage is, the GM may base it on a hunch after asking the players how prepared and skilled they are, and whether anyone is helping, then considering the difficulty of the task.
