=Canon?=
Like the [[Jade-Blooded]] the Mahtmasi were meant to be introduced the the [[Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay]] supplement [[Night's Dark Masters]]. However like their Cathay Kin the were cut from the final product, and were later released in apocrypha form by the supplements co-author Steve Darlington. However unlike the Jade-Blooded they received comparatively little love in other Warhammer materials, and never caught on with the fans like the Jade-Blooded did. Whether this is because Machiavellian not-chinese vampires with green blood are just more interesting, or because no one like gross walking corpse mercenaries filled with bugs is anyone's guess.

However in an interview, Andy Hall of [[Total War: WARHAMMER|Total Warhammer]] fame, revealed that Jade-Blooded vampires are in fact considered canon to the setting and have a presence in Cathay, though he was hush-hush on any info beyond that. Whether they stick to the outline in the apocrypha for an RPG supplement, and what that means for the canon-ness of the Mahtmasi is up in the air til more info comes out. But this possibly-canon-by-association with the Jade-Blooded is the most this Bloodline has seen in a good long time.
