The long term consequences of Failcast have only continued to grow as time went on. As of 2022 GW have begun to 'rotate' out old Finecast models on account of it being majorly carcinogenic and thus extremely bad for their workers, which was a major cause for concern in lawsuit land. While nothing to be mourned in terms of the quality of models exiting availability, it is none the less a major pain in the ass for anyone that might want an official model for a number of Dark Eldar, Imperial Guard, Tyranids or Ork models including some iconic characters like Yarrick, Creed, Kell that have exited the range in 2022. The fact of the matter is that ultimately while no one will miss finecast, these models not having already been replaced by plastic kits while Primaris continue to expand their kits well past what many of the aforementioned affected armies have in their entire products range (including codices and playing cards) is a major annoyance. Had Finecast never existed, these models would not have had to go anywhere - but giving your workers cancer, price gouging consumers and eventually gutting large swathes of your product range that you have no immediate plans to fix don't matter as long as GW profits continue to soar.
