==Models==
The set came with unique sculpts for all miniatures within, and was known for being an amazing value for years (with the usual tabletop starter set tactic of buying a box, selling the faction you don't want and buying a second or third likewise for a full army being in effect). Many of these can still be found on eBay at decent prices (usually the High Elves).

Island Of Blood is technically the last Warhammer Fantasy starter set (unless you count [[Total War: WARHAMMER]]), and is the only one to include no scenery or objective pieces (since starter sets started including miniatures at all, the earliest Warhammer starter sets were just books).
