===The Eastern Imperium=== Flees with other loyalists to the Eastern Imperium Calls the Council of Primarchs to rally the Legions in an attempt to take back Terra. They reference the fall of Klaus, and put forth the idea of stabilising the Eastern Imperium The idea infuriates the Hawk and he storms out. The discussion turns to how best stabilise the East and obviously turns to shit, leading to the development of the crusader states. |} {| class="wikitable mw-collapsible mw-collapsed" !
Legion Culture
               |- | Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet |} {| class="wikitable mw-collapsible mw-collapsed" !
Legion Organisation and Tactical Doctrine
|- | Legion Organisation
The Legion is organised into Battle Groups and Combat Teams, ad-hoc organisations assembled from the various wings of the Legion.
High Command consists of the Primarch Raydon and his personal council made up of chapter ancients and senior officers. Below that are the Legion representatives (consuls) with their honour guards. The Vigilator Primus answers directly to the Primarch and is otherwise outside the chain of command.
Below High Command are the various Wing Commanders, who command a roughly Chapter sized force. Including: A Flagship (typically a Strike Cruiser). Combat Support includes: Armoury, various escort craft, the Divisional Librarium & Apothecarion. Combat Arms include: At least 3 Strike Battalions & A single Support Squadron.
A Strike Battalion is commanded by a Strike Captain, and consists of Frigates and Destroyers, with Navigators organic to the organisation. Combat Support elements includes: Tech Marine Covenants, an Apothecarion detachment. Combat Arms include: 2 Sabre Companies and 1 Lance Squadron.
Sabre Companies are led by a Commander. Combat Support: Techmarine or Two. Apothecarion Pair. Fleet assets enough to enable galactic mobility (Frigates & Destroyers) Combat Arms: 3 - 5 Strike Teams.
Lance Squadrons are the air power of the legion and are led by a Wing-Commander. Combat Arms: 3-5 Raptor Talons, 0-2 Storm Birds.
Strike Teams are 4 to 8 man squads coupled with a Darkwing Transport, often led by a veteran sergeant.
Tactics and Doctrine
The Hawks practice a way of war, quite unlike their brothers - economy of action. Committing no more than necessary to achieve their missions. They work quickly, quietly, and efficiently. They drop from the skies in small strike teams, often in tandem with other teams fighting elsewhere. Eliminating the critical aspects of the enemies resistance.
They see war as a great hunt, the enemies as their prey. That is not to say they think of their enemies as lesser, indeed they acknowledge a certain nobility in some prey, those who fight well, those who are skilled at evasion, those who show conviction in the face of certain death.
All this changes however in relation to their fallen brothers, they revile the traitors - having a reserved a special undying hatred that few can truly fathom. Indeed if it was not for their unbridled loyalty to the Emperors light, it is likely their hatred would consume them entirely. |} {| class="wikitable mw-collapsible mw-collapsed" !
Legion Worlds and Recruitment
       |- | Homeworld: Ravenloft
Ravenloft was an artificial planet-port built during the ages before the Great Crusade, and was a rapidly converted into a second-line defence as well as a mustering point for the crusader fleets. With the outbreak of the Heresy, it was one of the initial targets for the War Master, he had saboteurs destroy vital graviton belts that held the planets-ports internal structure together and within hours it had collapsed in on itself.
Yet another plot in the Warmasters schemes, uncertain of which side the Hawk would take in the Heresy he ensured that the destruction of Ravenloft was attributed to the Loyalists, hoping to tip the scales of decision. |} {| class="wikitable mw-collapsible mw-collapsed" !
Legion Geneseed
              |- | LCommon Traits: + A feeling of internal darkness, known as "The Thrill" by some, the chapters religious teachings use it as an example of primal inner strength that can be drawn upon but never given into. + A sense of mistrust for outsiders + as a Battle brother reaches extreme ages, their skin darkens turning a deep red/brown (think uruk-hai after 500+ years). The process begins around the 150yr mark where they start darkening (orangish). In this way, those familiar with the legion can identify the approximate age of a battle brother at a glance. + The legion has increased reflexes compared even to their astartes brothers, though not remarkably increased, it provides sufficient advantage in high speed environments such as the aerospace battles they often find themselves in. + the legion also has black eyes. + has a strange occurrence known as "the harrowing" where occassionally a battle-brother has flashes of vision or glimpses of knowledge that their genetic forebare experienced. This can be both a blessing and a curse, allowing them to access otherwise unattainable knowledge, experience, and skills however in the worst cases they relive their ancestors most traumatic experiences, and even their deaths. This has been known to leave an otherwise perfectly operable Battle-Brother in a state of comatose, or devolve rapidly into a raving mad beast, intent only on surviving whatever battle they envisage themselves fighting in, determined to vanquish the phantoms they see all around them. |} {| class="wikitable mw-collapsible mw-collapsed" !
Legion Specific Timeline
          |- | '''M31''' ''False Quest'' Raydon and his Hawks are sent to the Galactic South on an errand from the Warmaster. Sent to investigate a strange phenomenon with the utmost discretion. '''M31''' ''The Tournament of Blades'' The Hawks send an entourage to attend, Raydon also orders his Vigilator Primus attend in secret, being plagued with prophetic dreams he cannot decipher. He orders his Primus to report to him at its conclusion. ''' M31''' ''Web of Lies'' His investigation being a string of false leads, Raydon begins to bring his Hawks home. The fleet receive dozens of signals, all of which are contradictory in details, the only constant is civil war. The Arcadia receives and encrypted message from Enoch’s own flagship requesting a meet. Raydon agrees. '''M31''' ''The horrible Truth'' The Vigilator Primus finally contacts Raydon and shares the truth of what happened at the Tournament of Blades. '''M31''' ''Broken Bonds'' The Arcadia arrives in the orbit of Echord IV seemingly unsupported by any other Hawk vessels and awaits the Judgement Bringer Fleet. When Enoch arrives he attempts to sway Raydon to the side of the Warmaster with lies, then promises, then threats. All the while Hawk Spectres conduct covert operations on the Judgement Bringer fleets, sabotaging them from within. Once Raydon has acquired the information he can, the Acadia recalls the Spectres and begins his path to Terra. '''M31''' ''Calamity'' The Hawk fleet suffers delay after delay, Warp travel being disjointed by storms. They receive signals indicating the Fall of Terra, and calls for all loyalists to withdraw to the Galactic East. '''M31''' ''Joining the Fight'' The Hawk fleets begin to lay ambushes along the eastern border from Cyris to Elysia to Banna and Targus, awaiting the fleeing loyalists. Using the information stolen from the Judgement Bringer vessels to determine friend from foe. ''' M31''' ''Delay and Withdraw'' The Hawks conduct a series of delaying actions against the pursuing traitor forces, suffering major defeats to the Second Sons, having mistaken them for fleeing loyalists. They score significant victories against the over aggressive Blood Hounds. The Iron Hearts destroy an entire Battle Group, though are redirected to the galactic south through the capture of a Hawk Captain who divulged false information in interrogation. '''M31''' ''The Firewall'' The emergence of the Firewall protects the fleeing Hawks. Raydon seeks out Malcador attempting to reconstitute the Imperial Forces. '''M31''' '' The Council of Titans'' Raydon and Malcador call a meeting of the Loyalist leaders, included are the Loyalist Primarchs, as well as Anders Kor, the most senior adepts of Mars, the High Commander of the Imperial Army, the Lord High Admiral of the Imperial Armada as well as the remaining Custodes, much to the chargrin of many of the Primarchs. '''M31''' ''Eternal Crusade'' With the 1st Crusade a failure, the Council is reconvened and at Malcadors suggestion renamed the Imperial Senate. When idea of establishing independent states in adopted, Raydon and his entourage leave, swearing to continue the Crusade in the Emperors name until the victory had been achieved or death took him. '''M32''' '' The Hunt Begins'' The Hawks establish Star Fort outposts, 4 spread strategically throughout the West with a single Fort kept in the East under the protection of a small delegation in the Territory claimed by the Fists of Mars. '''M32''' ''Brothers in Blood'' The Hawks adopt hundreds of Knights Errant into their fleet, treating them as the most honoured guests. Fleet Doctrine is modified to allow the senior Knight Errant to be given a permanent seat on Hawk Councils, always opposite the council head. '''M32''' ''Divide and Don’t Conquer'' Raydon issues orders to his senior commanders, laying out his vision of how the campaign will be waged. He orders the division of the fleets and sets regroup coordinates and timings. Empowering his subordinates with ultimate authority in his name whilst on campaign, they are to persecute known traitors, to show no mercy, no remorse. Territory is not to be taken, only plundered to continue the Crusade. No target is off limits, civilian casualties are to be avoided, but tolerated at the commander’s discretion. '''M33''' ''Diplomacy resumes'' Raydon seeks out Xun, rumours abound as to his purpose. He returns periodically over the next several hundred years. '''M33''' ''Supplies Diminish'' Star Fort Ravenloft is captured by Ironheart forces, orders are issued to the remaining Star Forts that should capture seem inevitable, to self-destruct the Fort to prevent Legion relics and resources falling into the hands of the enemy. '''M34''' ''The Hunt Begins'' Raydon sets off in the Greatest hunt, having supposedly found a way to kill the Warmaster. Over the next thousand years he tracks him through the Dark Imperium. '''M34''' '' The Hunt Ends'' Raydon is reportedly killed by Kashaln, details are confused and contradictory. Some suggest he found the Warmaster and failed in his attempt to kill him, others say that he succeeded but that the Gods themselves brought the Warmaster back to the realm of the living. '''M35''' ''Visions of the Future'' Hawk Librarians predict a collapse of the Firewall and the Legion is reconstituted under the call of Imperial Emergency. The Hawk representative at the Imperial Senate, Commander Victor Mordak attempts to warn the Senators of the impending doom. The Scions begin to rally forces under Idrias Stern. '''M35''' ''Losses Continue.'' Loss of Star Fort Hydros. The Castellan in charge sets the Fort to self-destruct to prevent it falling into the hands of the Bloodhounds. '''M37''' ''Just in Time'' 3 Hawk Battle Groups receive distress calls from the Scions, and risk traversing the Firewall to come to their aid. Though they suffer catastrophic damage to the fleets their timely arrival prevents the total annihilation of the Scion capital world of Amaranth. The Scions promise to repay the debt through upgrades and repairs to the Hawk Fleets. '''M38''' ''Vengeance at what cost?'' A Hawk Commander takes his Strike Force deep into Protectorate holdings seeking out Traitors who apparently reside there. They are intercepted by Paladin forces and requested to leave. In turn they begin to raid planets nearby to draw away the blocking Paladins. Whilst sending in no less than 5 Spectres to seek out and destroy the hiding Traitors. The conflict quickly escalates, and much blood is spilt between Paladin and Hawks, but the Traitors are found and promptly punished. The Hawk Strike Force then withdraws. '''M39''' ''Mass Recruitment'' The Hawks begin a massive recruitment drive, the reason is unconfirmed however scholars suggest their numbers were dwindling at an unsustainable rate. Others suggest they are readying for the end of days. '''M40''' ''The Few'' The Imperial Senate finally passes judgement on the crimes committed by the Hawks in the Protectorate, the Hawks ambassador publically condemns the actions of “the few” but pushes for collective action against the Protectorate to prevent incursions in the East. '''M40''' ''The rise of the Necrons.'' Necron forces begin to awaken, several Strike Forces are dispatched from the West to the East to aid in the defence of loyalist forces. Their technology suggests that they can travel without the use of the Warp and have means of destroying, or at least trapping the forces of chaos permanently. '''M41''' ''A New Hope'' Some Hawk Commanders being to believe the Necron technology is the best hope for their crusade, and begin working with Scions to study them more closely. ''' M41''' ''The Tyranid Menace '' The Hawk Battle Groups receive summons from the Imperial Senate, as well as many summons from the Crusader States calling upon ancient oaths to aid the East. Some are answered, others are not. '''M42''' ''Dire Warning '' The Hawks hit an all-time high in terms of active legionnaires, not seen since before the Heresy. The Vigilator Primus reveals himself to the Imperial Senators. Calling for immediate council to share his dire news. |} {| class="wikitable mw-collapsible mw-collapsed" !
Legion Successor Chapters
          |- | Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet |} {| class="wikitable mw-collapsible mw-collapsed" !
Legion Rules
               |- | Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet |} {| class="wikitable mw-collapsible mw-collapsed" !
Write Faggotry
               |- | Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet |} |}
