==Equipment== All assault marines wear the standard space marine Mark VII: Aquila Armour (Although some Chapters like the Raven Guard opt for the Mark VI: Corvus Armour instead) and carry a chainsword, bolt pistol and frag or krak grenades. Back in the Horus Heresy the Assault Squad was one of the most effected units when it came to equipment. In the beginning, the Mark IV: Maximus Armour was the standard, but very quickly, the Mark V: Heresy Armour immediately took over as the Maximus was getting wrecked left to right due to the Assault marine's profession in getting real close and personal. The majority of assault squads will equip themselves with jump packs, but those who do not go into battle by either transport or drop pod. Some members in the squad (typically 2) will be armed with either plasma pistols or flamers. Blood Angels and their successor chapters assault marines can additonally be armed with hand flamers and/or infernus pistols. The space marine sergeant may also take melta bombs, and can exchange his chainsword and/or bolt pistol for a combi-weapon, combat shield, grav-pistol, plasma pistol, eviscerator, power weapon, powerfist, storm shield, thunder hammer and either one or a pair of lightning claws.
