==Crunch== ===Horus Heresy 1.0=== They have access to nasty proscribed weapons that even in this setting are described as "too cruel", like Toughness-decreasing Rad grenades, AoE Fleshbane Rad missiles (no access to Krak, though), the deadly Phosphex bombs and, as of Book 8, ''Poisoned (3+)'' psychic flamers with ''Rending'' in all but name. The squad has a hard-on for bolt pistols, with each Destroyer wielding a pair for double-tapping at any (admittedly short) distance. One in five can take a volkite serpenta/hand flamer/plasma pistol; rad missiles are the better choice, but the pistols are a little cheaper. In short, the Legion Destroyer squad is a more expensive Assault squad (from before they got their price fixed, and with the jump packs needing to be bought extra - in all honesty it's still hard to justify this unit's cost) with better shooting ability and access to unique anti-infantry weapons. Properly equipped, they'll make their points back by erasing a swathe of infantry, AdMech MCs or even Terminators before they go pop. Too bad the Servitors of rad Techmarines can bring more Rad Missile launchers, the weapon that used to make this squad "unique". ===Horus Heresy 2.0=== ====Legion Destroyer Assault Squad==== A squad of five Marines with jump packs who heard the phrase "all is fair in love and war" and applied it to using radiation weapons on xenos civilians. They come stock with ''Stubborn'' and ''Counter-attack (1)'' and are armed with dual Bolt Pistols and Chainswords (giving them 3 attacks base) as well as Rad Grenades. Destroyers are the units you call in when you want to weaken and horrifically maim enemy infantry units with their Toughness-decreasing Rad Weapons, ''Poisoned (3+)'' and ''Rending (6+)'' Flamers and Phosphex Bombs. The entire unit can take Melta Bombs if you feel like blowing holes in vehicles and one in five can take a Missile Launcher (Rad Missiles only) with a ''Suspensor Web''. They also have ''Bitter Duty'', as not many people want to hang around with a group of guys who think of the Geneva Convention as guidelines rather than hard and fast rules. Since Techmarines have now lost the ability to take Rad Grenades and servitors with rad missiles, these guys are your best way of getting hold of those nasty little cancer bombs. With jump packs, it's easier to pull off multiple charges with them than Mortalis Destroyers, allowing their brothers to benefit from the effects of the Rad Grenades. ====Legion Mortalis Destroyer Squad==== The same as Assault Destroyers but lacking jump packs. This seems like a downgrade at first, but you get some good concessions in return. They are cheaper than the standard Destroyers and they get access to either a Graviton Gun with ''Suspensor Web'' or a FUCKING DISINTEGRATOR GUN, which allows them to instantly vaporise Automata. Mixed with rad missiles, they can be pretty effective monster and Ogryn hunters. Only take the Land Raider DT if you sure it's needed. While it offers better Dakka than a Rhino or the Termite Assault Drill, you need to kit its weapons out to support the Destroyer Squad, so points costs can add up quickly. {{Marines-Forces}} {{Chaos Space Marines}}
