On a date too trivial to type, a trillion years after the furthest point of time you could imagine, only this page of the internet is still pulsing through the freezing cosmos, a symbol of humanities legacy and life's oldest relic. It almost fails before meaning anything, mercifully losing it's battle with entropy only seconds after it's picked up by the universe's last civilisation, the page you're reading is recorded as their first contact with sentient life. 

There will be no one who gets the chance to decipher it though, as their chief scientist is stood barefoot in the flora, holding their kin close and tight with something resembling our concept of fear. They're just like the rest of their race, the final bastion of life in an empty universe, collectively watching a super meteor designated as Earth-616 hurtle towards their fragile planet.
