== Setting == Keyforge is set upon a Hodge-podge mix of concepts and species known as the Crucible. The Crucible is an ancient planet in the center of the universe, consisting of several layers. Each layer is made of races and terrain pulled from various different parts of the universe collected by the Architects, a group of enigmatic and mischievous beings. Sometimes only a few individuals are brought to the crucible, while sometimes entire cultures are picked up and transplanted by these yahoos. Society in the Crucible runs on a strange substance called æmber, a strange psychic substance that powers most tech in the Crucible barring a few groups. Due to the limited amounts of the substance, the various groups of the fight over it, as is typicall when there's limited supplies of anything. In addition to the various races of the Crucible, there also exists the Archons, a bunch of ghost-god things that look however the hell they want, do whatever the hell they want, and want to get in the vaults hidden across the crucible for some unknown reason. Luckily for them, most of the races across the crucible are happy to help them get inside these vaults, both because many revere or respect the Archon, but more importantly because the vaults are full of æmber and rare technologies. (which for some reason the Archon's don't want. Go figure.)Usually these companions tend to have something in common with the Archons they travel with. For example, A particularly warlike Archon may attract those who wish defend their homeland, like to duel and get stronger, or simply are looking for a good scrap. If two Archons are going after the same vault, the two Archons agree to a duel where they and their companions will race to complete three æmber keys to open the vault. In these races the companions are allowed to fight, steal, chant and kill each other in order to complete these keys before the other group. It's all in good fun though, because if anyone is particularly hurt or even killed, after the contest the Archon will heal or revive their companions, as per the rules of the duel.
