== The Game == The key element that sets Dropzone Commander from other wargames is the emphasis on mobility. It's a 10mm game typically played on a 4'-by-4' board which is dense with terrain (mostly human buildings, since it's themed around retaking Earth and other human colony worlds), with most ground units only able to move a few inches per turn. The way they get to where they need to be is through dropships. The miniatures are all made to scale with each other, so you can magnetize your miniatures and literally place vehicles inside the cargo clamps of their transports. Scenarios are usually heavily focused on objectives, either holding ground around them or searching for them in buildings and extracting them from the board, with kill points serving as a tie breaker. Because of the need for dropships to move around the board, and the prevalence of objectives being hidden in structures that need soldiers on foot to find, a properly built army will feature a mixture of anti-tank, anti-air, and infantry units. The game follows an alternating activation turn structure. Your armies are organized into battlegroups, and each player takes turns activating one battlegroup at a time until all of them have performed their actions for the round. A new round then begins, with scenarios typically lasting for six rounds. The player order is determined by a roll off at the start of the round, with bonuses to the roll from having commander units on the board. Additionally, there is a deck of command cards with various effects, and the number of these you can draw per turn is determined by the level of your commander.
