Editing Critical Role (section)

==The Setting==
The players of Critical Role use Mercer's own homebrewed world, called [[Exandria]]. The first campaign (series) takes place on a Madagascar-sized "continent" called Tal'dorei, followed up by another romp through another region called Wildemount. The second campaign is set 20 years after the events of the first. The new third campaign is set 31 years after the end of the first. This time, the campaign is set in Marquet, another continent that is known for being full of deserts and mountain ranges.

The first campaign is mostly an archetypal fantasy adventure having a lot of noblebright elements (the "Briarwoods arc" being a notable exception). The second campaign, set in the Dwendalian Empire, is much more [[Grimdark]], the Empire itself sharing many similarities with /tg/'s [[The Imperium of Man|favorite religiously-intolerant empire]]. Campaign Three is set on the continent of Marquet, which was explored briefly in Campaign One. The continent is partially covered by a desert, where the city of Ank'Harel is situated (1001 nights flavored city), while the rest of the continent is covered by swamps and jungles. Marquet has an East-Asian aesthetic, as well as a more Steampunk flavor due to the time-skips between Campaigns.
